Ask Me Why

The point of working with a travel advisor is to tailor your trip to you. While I may book a destination many times or work with the same trusted destination management companies (see previous post on DMCs), I always tweak my recommendations based on you. I may recommend a hotel a little outside of the city center because it has an amazing rooftop bar or late night scene for one client. A client traveling with their small children, however, would be better served by a hotel near a park with a separate sleeping area (naptime planning is crucial).

Clients often come back to me after a first proposal to ask about a different hotel option. I am always happy to explain my choices and/or provide more options. Don’t be afraid to ask! I will always remind you that this is your vacation! I’m not offended. I will explain why I chose one activity or excluded another. After further discussion, you may decide that you agree with my suggestion or that you would still like an alternative. It is a collaboration.

I do the same thing with destinations. I once tried to talk a client out of pairing certain destinations on the same trip as they were far apart for the length of their vacation. His friends had strongly recommended it so he was adamant. While he did enjoy the trip, he admitted upon returning that he did, in fact, find the additional travel time between destinations draining. Lesson learned.

I will never make you do anything you don’t want to but I try to steer you in the right direction for the best possible vacation. Always remember that I=if I don’t create a vacation you like, you won’t work with me again or recommend me. That is what drives an advisor's business. Creating the trip you never dreamed possible is our mutual goal.

I know you’ve been dreaming for the the last year so let’s turn that dream into a reality together…
